Eligibility Requirements

The following is a list of the qualifying standards set by the UP Police recruitment and promotion board for the hiring of constables.

Age Limit

For Male Candidates – Applicants must be at least 18 years old and no older than 22 years old as of July 1, 2023. Moreover, the applicant must have been born between July 1, 2001 and July 1, 2005.

Female Candidates – The candidate must be at least 18 years old on July 1, 2023, and no older than 25. Besides that, the candidate can no longer have been born before July 02, 1998, or after July 01, 2005.

Educational Qualifications

● Candidates must meet the government-determined qualifications or be 12th pass or intermediate graduates from any recognized board.
● Candidates must possess the “O” diploma in computer training from the NIELT Society or DOEACC.
● Applicants need to have completed two years of service in the Territorial Army or hold a National Cadet Core “B-Level” diploma.

Selection Procedure for 2023 UP Police Constables

The notification enumerates the steps that were taken to select the candidates. Additionally, candidates must achieve cut-off marks in each stage discussed below in order to be selected for Constable Positions in the UP Police.

Stage 1: Written Examination

Stage 2 consists of document verification and the Physical Standard Test (PST).

Stage 3: The Physical Measurement Test (PMT).

Exam Pattern

The UP Police Recruitment Board will hold a written examination in 2024 to select qualified candidates for the constable position. Not to mention, the exam will consist of 150 objective-type questions. Each question is worth 2 points. In contrast, for each wrong answer on a question, a candidate loses 0.25 points.
